OUR STORY

From Accident Prevention to Driver Education

The Canadian Academy of Defensive Driving was founded in 2011 by professionals who had spent years in public safety, law enforcement support, and victim services. We had seen the aftermath of collisions — the injuries, the legal consequences, the lives permanently altered — and we believed most were preventable with better training.

Traditional driving schools focused on passing tests. We chose to focus on preventing collisions.

Today, CADD is one of Ontario’s most respected defensive driving academies, with over 15,000 graduates, a 98% first-attempt pass rate, and the only Security & Enforcement Defensive Driving Program in the Greater Toronto Area.

OUR MISSION

Making Ontario's Roads Safer, One Driver at a Time

Every CADD program is designed around a single principle: defensive driving is not a technique you learn once — it is a mindset you develop for life. We teach students to anticipate hazards before they become emergencies, to manage risk in high-pressure situations, and to make decisions that protect themselves and everyone around them.

Our mission extends beyond individual instruction. Through corporate fleet training, community safety workshops, and public safety career preparation, we work to elevate driving standards across Ontario.

Our Team

Instructors Who Exceed Industry Standards

CADD instructors are selected for more than driving expertise. We require:

Post-Secondary Defensive Driving Certification from recognized Canadian institutions

Standard First Aid, CPR Level C, and WHMIS Certification

Annual Police Record Checks for student safety

Continuous Professional Development in road safety science and Ontario traffic law

Minimum 5 Years of instructional experience (most exceed 10)

But credentials alone do not make exceptional teachers. We select instructors for patience, communication skill, cultural sensitivity, and genuine commitment to student success. Female instructors are available upon request.
