Is CADD an MTO-approved driving school?

Yes. The Canadian Academy of Defensive Driving is a Ministry of Transportation (MTO) approved course provider. All BDE, Defensive Driving, and Driver Improvement programs meet or exceed MTO standards.

We provide driving lessons across the Greater Toronto Area with home pickup in Scarborough, North York, Markham, Richmond Hill, Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, and Stouffville. Toronto Core, Downtown, and West End residents meet instructors at designated transit hubs.

Yes. All instructors hold post-secondary defensive driving certification, Standard First Aid and CPR Level C, WHMIS certification, and complete annual police record checks. Most have 10+ years of instructional experience.

Yes. Female instructors are available upon request for all programs.

BDE Questions

How does the BDE course help me get my G2 licence faster?

Completing an MTO-approved BDE program reduces the mandatory G1 waiting period from 12 months to 8 months. You can book your G2 road test 4 months earlier.

Yes. Every in-car lesson is one-on-one with your dedicated certified instructor. We do not offer shared or group in-car sessions.

Absolutely. Our in-car lessons are available evenings and weekends. You schedule directly with your instructor at times that work for you.

Most likely. Most major Ontario insurance providers offer 10% to 20% discounts for MTO-approved BDE graduates. Contact your provider to confirm your specific eligibility.

98% of CADD BDE graduates pass their G2 road test on the first attempt at Ontario DriveTest Centres.

Yes. The BDE Digital Advantage and Elite packages include road test vehicle rental for the Scarborough DriveTest Centre. Rental for other GTA centres can be arranged for an additional fee.

Road Test Preparation Questions

Do G2 short packages reduce the waiting period?

No. Only the full MTO-approved BDE program reduces the waiting period from 12 to 8 months. G2 short packages focus on test preparation only.

No. Insurance discounts require completion of the full MTO-approved BDE program.

Yes. The Urban Pro Plus (8 hours) and Comprehensive Driver (10 hours) G2 packages include a realistic mock road test. The Highway Pro (8 hours) and The G Driver (10 hours) G packages include a mock G test.

Yes, for up to 60 days from arrival in Ontario. After 60 days, you must obtain an Ontario G1 licence to continue training and attempt road tests.

Legal / Court-Mandated Questions

Is the Driver Improvement Course mandatory for stunt driving?

Yes. Since April 1, 2022, Ontario drivers convicted of stunt driving must complete a recognized driver improvement course within 60 days.

Yes. CADD can deliver your official certificate directly to your lawyer, paralegal, or the Driver Improvement Office.

Yes. Our lead instructor has a background in Paralegal Studies and works with professionals licensed by the Law Society of Ontario (LSO).

You may need a Temporary Driver's Licence (TDL) for in-vehicle training. CADD can assist with TDL applications.

How do I register?

Cancellations with 24 hours' notice can be rescheduled without penalty. Same-day cancellations may incur a fee.

We accept all major credit cards, Interac e-Transfer, and certified cheques. Payment plans are available for BDE packages.
