The People Behind Ontario's Safest New Drivers

A driving school is only as good as the instructors in its vehicles. At CADD, we do not hire part-time drivers between gigs. We build a team of educators who treat driver training as a professional responsibility—and student safety as a personal one.

Raheel Ray Syed — Co-Founder and Managing Director

Raheel co-founded Canadian Academy of Defensive Driving Inc. in 2011 after years of work in public safety, law enforcement support, and victim services. Having witnessed the long-term consequences of preventable collisions, he built CADD on a simple principle: driver education should focus on survival, not just scoring.

Under his leadership, CADD has grown from a single-instruction operation into one of the GTA's most respected defensive driving academies, with more than 15,000 graduates, a 98% first-attempt pass rate, and the only Security & Enforcement Defensive Driving Program in the region.

Raheel remains actively involved in curriculum development, instructor training, and community safety partnerships.

Instructional Team

Our instructors are the face of CADD. Every candidate undergoes a rigorous selection process that goes far beyond holding an MTO licence to teach.

What We Require:

What We Look For:

Credentials matter, but character matters more. We select instructors who can de-escalate student anxiety, explain complex traffic dynamics in plain language, and adapt their teaching style to different learning needs. Whether a student is a nervous beginner, a newcomer to Canadian roads, or an experienced driver facing a court-mandated program, our instructors meet them where they are.

Specialized Roles:

Female Instructors: Available upon request for all programs.

Operations & Student Support

Behind every lesson booking is a team that ensures scheduling accuracy, vehicle maintenance, and clear communication.

Continuous Training & Professional Development

Driving laws change. Vehicle technology evolves. Road safety research advances. Our team does not rest on initial certifications.

CADD instructors participate in quarterly workshops on topics such as:

This commitment to continuous improvement is why our instruction remains current, credible, and effective.
